Research Projects

An active line of research (the FEATHERS project) in our lab is to use games in home-based therapy to improve stroke survivors’ engagement in rehabilitation, since current stroke rehabilitation is a frustrating process that requires stroke survivors to perform repetitive movements to maintain or regain their motor functions. For the FEATHERS’ proposed rehabilitation system, users are required to perform bimanual motions in order to facilitate functional movements of the weaker arm.

For a home-based rehabilitation system, since the users will have minimal assistance from therapists, there is a need to develop a mechanism that corrects users’ motion. This study investigates whether using vibrotactile cues in motion guidance can promote positive motor learning. This study will focus on healthy population.Project Supervisors:
